Go and look at cameras at a reputable camera store. Hold them in your hand. Feel how they fit and which you like the best. I would suggest choosing the camera that feels the best. I personally use a Nikon because it feels sturdier and heavier. Spend your money on your lenses as you can take your lenses with you as you upgrade your camera as you progress and improve.
I think it all depends on your price range. Like horses, depending on what your plans are, it can be reasonable to extremely pricey. Canon, Nikon, Sony DSLR seem to be the most professionally used cameras these days and come in reasonably priced entry bodies as well. My personal opinion is the lenses make the shot so invest in quality lenses:))
I use a Nikon D3100 (the old version of the Nikon D3200 and D3300) and then I switch up the lense now and again. Great beginners camera :)
I use a Fuji film, l am not a photographer but I like to take pictures😊
