My horse just got to a body score of 5 of 9. However, she was switched to cubes from hay because of my location; hay is expensive, and local is poor quality. So the cubes may have contributed to the abscesses? She is cleared now, and her frog has hardened nicely. Her paddock is a swamp when it rains unfortunately (I am looking for a new place to board).
Another vote for Keratox to harden the feet. However, I would be looking at a diet issue. You say the horse has come from a dry climate (usually little grass) and has moved to a rainforest climate (usully lots of lush grass). The horse could be IR or it is simply to much of a dramatic change for his or her system to handle. IR often results in continous abscesses. Is the horse overweight?
