How do you decide that you need a new helmet? Aside from after a catastrophic fall...
About every 3-5 years it's good to upgrade!
Too rich for my blood! Lol
Oh yeah ovation doesn't for Canada. I thought it looked like a Charles Owen in your picture
Ovation. Not expensive, but I've been really happy with it.
I'm not sure but greenhawk might have a warranty on the ones they sell. I can't remember from last time I bought one though. What helmet brand?
That's what I was thinking, thank you. Doesn't sound like the warranty applies to Canadians for my helmet, dangit!
If you've had two or three falls where your head touched the ground it may be a good idea to look into a new one as the damage is usually internal and therefore not visible. If it's been less than a year since you purchased it you should look into whether or not it has a warranty (most helmets do witching the first few years)
I just got mine this year, but I've have two or three falls (on grass) in which the helmet contacted the ground. No visible damage to the helmet of course.
I like to replace them after a few years. Even if you haven't ever even slightly hit your head the general wear and tear over the years (little bumps, being dropped, rolling on the ground) are enough to impede on the helmets protective abilities, and render them less safe.
I believe you're meant to replace them after a few years anyway regardless of falls as the foam etc may have degraded.

I recently got a new helmet because of a change in safety standards so I had to :)
