They're very pretty, but they are just a trend. They are thick but compress down to nothing. I'd recommend getting the gummy version if you do get one because it's denser but thinner.
I think ogilvys are just a fad. Try a thineline for shock absorption. They are proven and have science to back them up unlike the ogilvys.
I love the look of them but I don't like them myself, I too find them too thick. I also second ThinLine! I have the cotton trifecta one (has a spine and more whither relief for my shark of an OTTB). Definitely worth the price.
Personally I do not like them. They are very thick and they lift you away from the horse. I prefer the thinner type. ThinLine makes a great one and I use the tad coffin
They are grey for shock absorption. Make sure that you try one on before buying it or can return it as they can change saddle fit drastically due to their thickness. Also, a cheaper option that's almost as good are shedrow shedrow memory foam half pads
