Hello Nicki :) I read that beet pulp is better than cereal because it has as many calories as oats without the propensity for acid production found with starch. So I guess, it could be good for horses with ulcers !

I found this article on the subject if you want more information : https://www.baileyshorsefeeds.co.uk/articles/gastric-ulcers-and-how-beet-pulp-can-help

Hope it helped :)
I have him on podium threw masterfeeds it's a cool feed so low startch and all and on a high fat as well which is more of a typing and he gets it of hay Ive had him on stuff that was supposed to help ulcers but I noticed it made him more touchy
Hi Nicki,

Horses with digestive issues need to eat as little grain as possible. They need to have as much nutrients as possible from grass or hay. However most of the time especially if they are used for sport they require grain. Beet pulp is filler and doesn't have real nutritional value so if you need to feed grain it should be something easily digestible like 'senior'. If you horse has ulcer the most important thing is that they receive a treatment of omeprazole or Gastroguard. I hope this helps :)
