I have the same issue. I was going to jump with my ottb but she ended up having a 3rd carnial fracture. So I switched our line up to showmanship, equitation, English pleasure. If that doesn't interest you, you might want to consider retiring or selling to a good home, usually injured race horses end up going to kill centers so try to find a good home. If you are really in love with your horse consider switching to what they could do
Hey gen!!! I think that it depends on what you'll do with him/her. I think that if you take one you should be gentle with hard work
Depends on the fracture. Had a stocky 1/4 type that was shot, bullet hit the Radius and broke the bone. Luckily, the bones were still in alignment, although separated. The leg healed fine with just a slight splay. The horse was fine for flat riding, trail etc. I used him for roping and didn't want to put strain on the leg as he was so heavy on the front end, although he prolly would have handled it fine, so I retired him from the events.
