Ask Charlotte Mordasini : What is the perfect jumping position ?
Thanks so much
To get a good position you should try to rest on your feet so your leg doesn't go back over the jump, wait as long as you can with your shoulders in front of the jump in order to let the horse take off before you start leaning forward as to encourage him to jump up and not hurry at the jump and only then stretch your arms to let him stretch his neck. Trying to stay as still and do as little as possible over the jump will let the horse more free to give a good jump and it will also allow you to get back in the saddle quicker after. In my opinion Penelope Leprevost has one of the most effective position!
