What's the first steps of teaching Liberty!!

Do lots of ground work. Move the horse. Get him/her to listen to you. You a halter and lead rope to start and a whip (i use a pool noodle. I know that sounds weird but it works and it doesnt hurt the horse as much) make sure the cues are really clear. When your horse listens to you with the halter, take them into a pen or something and do the same things without a halter
The horse needs to be able to follow what u want it to do. Like back come side pass yeld hindquarters fourquarters. Hope that helps
