If it has already popped, it's best to let it drain as much as possible so leave it open whenever you can or of you need to bandage it (like if the horse is going into the mud) then change the bandage lots ☺️ As Hannah said, epsom salts are great for abscesses too and can be used in a poultice if you don't want to soak 😊

My old mare had an abscess in her hoof. One of the main things i did to help was soak in Epsom salts! this helped drive the abscess out. i got a black feed tub and poured about half of a small bag in and added warm water, then i placed her hoof in there and let it sit for about 20 mins. i did this for about a week before it was better. Hope this helps! :)
