@juniengel he's very green. He was neglected 2 years ago and his previous owner taught him lead work. I've only had him for 2 weeks. Thanks for the advice! :)

@juniengel I use a halter. He's never had a bridle or bit on. If I even try to trot him when I'm leading, he'll freak off and run for minutes. He's currently 11 years old
He might just be getting his energy out but if he does it every time it might be something else <3
Do you lunge in a halter, bridle or lunging cavesson, with or without any kind of side reins? And how old is the horse?
