Does anyone have any suggestions for stopping a horse putting her tongue over the bit? I have a 2yo who I have just started bitting but she keeps sliding her tongue back and over.

Thank you we have tried multiple bits she deals with it fine she just plays with it and pulls her tongue so far back she is able to put her tongue back under however it isnt ideal. She is a very mouthy horse in general she actually picked the bit up without me asking her too so I think she likes to play but we will keep working with her she's a fast learner and we are giving her as much time as she needs. Thank you again
Hello Violet,
First of all, make your sure your horse doesn't have a tooth ache. Then does the bit have the right size? Does it suit your horse's mouth?
If you sure that there is no pain and that the bit fits, maybe your horse is just surprised. Sometimes young horses take time to get used to the bit in their mouth.
If he reaaly opens his mouth too much, you can put a soft noseband not too tight (the horse should be able to eat a treat with the noseband on).
Remember to be patient with your young horse and I'm sure it will get better with time!
Good luck :)
