I think it's great to take all horses out on trails. I don't think it's fair to them to only get to see their barn and arena. I think it's part of having a well-rounded horse, and it will make them better in the show ring due to having more exposure.

I also don't agree that some horses don't like trails... I think some horses are spooky on trails because they haven't been exposed to them, but just like anything else, it takes training for all horses to understand what's going on. Exposure, a trustworthy buddy, and a confident rider will help the inexperienced horse.
It depends on the horse bc some horses don't like trails.
I love trail riding. It's a good opportunity, as you said, for your horse to have a change in the daily routine. Not everyone has access to trails but I find it very beneficial. But it's not a must :)
I think so, but unfortunately at my barn there aren't very many good trails, but if there are some trails near your barn then go for Sure.
Thank you :-)!
I definitely agree with you! I try to go as much outside as possible even if it means taking the trailer to find new trails. And like you say, it relaxes me as well :-)
I think trail riding is super beneficial for the horse and rider just to relax however not everyone has access to trails unfortunately. I don't think it's an absolute MUST but if you have had trails available than I think you should definitely use them :)
