How do you get a flying lead change after a jump (if your horse lands on the wrong lead)? We have it down the diagnol but we can't get it after the jump.

Hey Willa,
The easiest time to get the change is before your horse actually lands. Placing a slight increase of pressure on the rein on the lead you want to land on and the same with the opposite leg. So if you want to land on the left lead, place pressure with the left rein, and with your right leg before landing. This asks the horse to organise its legs in the air so upon landing it can head onto the correct lead. Once landed and the lead is incorrect ask for the change again and if needed you can exaggerate the aids. If your horse still doesn't change either bring back to a trot and start again. Eventually you will be able to teach your horse to change automatically when you shift your weight around a corner, but it is much more easier if you can takeoff on the correct lead from the jump. Hope this helps 👍🏼
