Watch someone else do them helps and then have a go yourself. Use sticky sparys like pro plaits or any braiding spray as this will make the hair stay together more. Also I sing seeing always makes them look neater than banding but personal choice there. Also make sure your horses man eater is clean, knot free and not too long as you will be there for hours otherwise!
I just watch YouTube tutorials. Or there are books you can buy. If that doesn't work just take it slow and remember it doesn't have to be perfect.
Literally YouTube is amazing lol that's where I learned to braid manes and tales🤷♀️
I find that practice is essential.
And to stay relaxed and pace yourself. Take breaks if need be. Breathe. I would always get anxious but once I learned to relax my braids improved.
Measure and section off the mane into one inch increments. I used the end of my comb to measure.
If you struggle with yarn then use rubber bands.
Don't condition the main too much because it will be too slippery.
Don't worry too much about stray hairs, you can Vaseline them down into place once it's done.
I hope those are all helpful tips!
