Oh and also for your first show do smaller jumps than you can actually do. So maybe do 2 ft for the first show then move up for the sake of letting your horse get used to showing while jum
If your already doing 2 and a half ft your probably more than ready for a show. Just remember to keep heals down and look to your next jump not the one your on :)
thanks that's a big help I have been jumping at my barn and I can jump about 2 and a half feet consistently, but I don't really have a trainer I've just been sorta figuring it out as I go along, I think I'm ready for some shows what do you think?
I'm not sure what is provided at your barn but I would start with raised ground poles and work on centering your horse on them. Make sure you know your 2pt position and then after you and your horse get used to that move up to a very low crossrail. Then just slowly move up. But don't move to fast because you don't want to loose your confidence. I might also suggest you should find a trainer to teach you bc they probably have much better advice. Haha
