To me the most important are know how to look for colic, lameness, colds and caring for minor cuts, even the small cuts can become a problem if over looked.

Colic is such a killer! I feed physillium husks which helps promote a healthy gut and *apparently* helps prevent colic!
Honestly horses are so fragile! They can get sick from many things, for instance my horse had a sinus infection last year! First I had ever heard of it!
Thankfully there are vaccines for the bad ones!
Injury wise- the leg injuries are so common!
