What should I do if my horse doesn't like to be sprayed by fly spray!

So my horse just got his shoes off and he's had them on all spring and summer. His feet are really sensitive now and whenever I ride him he gets a bit of a limp. What can I do?

What are the best gloves for everyday use? Do you use different gloves for riding vs ground work?

Lakotas are amazing! I want one sooo bad. They're built with the horse's comfort in mind and I especially love the taller ones. We considered getting one for our TB and Percheron/TB but they were a bit out of our price range at the time.
