Do you have any tips on how to calm yourself down before competing?

My coach tells me to sing a little song in my head or to think about a conversation I had with someone. Seems to work well for me!
I have worked with spooky ponies at shows and it's good to let them fall asleep near the ring an hour before you show then get on and wake him up a little and they are relaxed cause they saw what was going on and fell asleep
I like to read inspirational quotes and the Bible!
Take lots of deep breaths! In the car even before you get there so you will be less nervous & also when you are there! Try making a playlist the night before a show and then listen to it the car ride there!
