Sometimes with my horse, If he's in his stall just go out and sit in his stall and read a book, talk to him, eat, see if he likes what you're eating, you could try to train some tricks... hacking is fun and some horses, hacking will build up their trust with you. You could do a lot of hand grazing and walks, talk to your horse often. See him often!! Just spend a lot of time with him and let him know he's a good boy!
I hang out with my horse a lot. She's cannot go in the turnout as she's recovering from an injury so I often take her for walks and to get grass. I also sit with her in her stall and scratch her neck.
You could try join up? It'll help both establish you as the leader and then trust in you as a leader!
Thanks guys! I have tried liberty but he doesn't like to follow me (i supose it's probably a leadership problem) so it isn't very much fun.
Go up to the stable and just sort of hang out with them, turn them out in the field and sit with them. And don't ride every time you go up. You could also try liberty? Hope this helps xx
I have found that just spending time with them like braiding helps as well as riding them on a consistent schedule that makes them know when you are coming
