Well that's not normal. Your vet should be able to tell you precisely whether the wound needs more time to heal or whether it's safe to ride... Sorry that I can't help, but on this topic you can't say for sure until you've examined the horse
If the vet told you to wait for the horse to heal, do it. If they told you to ride, do it. It's that simple.
I did ask my coach and vet and they didn't really provide better advice @oconnellclelia
Your welcome. I can try to figure out how to take a video on here. We did that already. It's all covered up now @sofia.roitman
Ask your vet or your coach if she/he has knowledge in this area, they'll provide much better advice.
Thanks Taylor, but we'd need to see the horse walking and trotting to be able to tell how much the wound is affecting them. And even then, a video is not as good as seeing the horse in person. A recommendation from someone who isn't even a vet and based on photos and videos might do more harm than good. A vet consult would be the best option here.
I can post a pic of his foot with the puncture wound. We did already @sofia.roitman
We can't tell without looking at the horse and it may require someone with more medical knowledge
You should consult a vet or a farrier
My horse recently punctured his sole on his foot and I idk if it's okay to ride him of it's already healed enough @maddieboesch
