My trainers have always said after one fence, there is always one to jump that makes the most sense. Take a deep breath and know that you'll do fine!!
I don't always walk the course. It helps me to watch people ride before me. If I'm first then I just try think of things or patterns it reminds me of :)
It helps if you can find something about each jump to remember, like red vertical to blue over kind of thing.
I always point to each jump and recite it to my trainer. She then makes me close the eyes and state the course three times. Good luck!
After you have walked the course with your trainer, take a moment to meditate and visualize the course and go through it in your head.
