How do I keep my horse calm when jumping? He used to be calm but recently he just gets too excited.

I had the same problem with my horse I'd say lunge him for ten minutes before you ride him and maybe if you give him feed that has less energy content.😀
Try to make downward transitions canter-trot, canter-collected walk and make some half pirouettes at collected walk and immediately go canter. Good luck😄
Have you tried a feed change Hun? If he's on a Hugh protein diet he will become very Ansy and hot headed. Maybe try some feeds that are lower in protein and energies, but still enough so that your pony stays well nourished and in tip top condition 😇
Ground poles before and after the jump, trot/canter poles, grids anything to make him think about where his feet are landing
Practice downward transitions when you land the jump, and half hault a few strides before the jump
