Try to brush and detangle as much as possible! Also you could rub coconut oil in it and then keep it tightly braided! Hope this helps!!
Coconut oil is another good one to use if you want to make your own detangler spray or pomade.
Cowboy Magic. Make sure the tail is nice and clean and tangle-free oh, then I would tie it up in a braid. If they are outside a lot you will need to redo this a couple times and pay attention to it.

Wash and condition tail first. I bought a detangle brush from the supermarket. I use that to brush through my boys tail. I also use a leave in conditioner treatment to keep his tail nice. Hope that helps!
