What are the main arena riding rules? Thanks :)
Walk on the inside track
Pass Left to left unless in walk the faster pace has priority
Transitions down in the middle of the school
Don't halt on the track
Left hand to left hand. Faster pace has priority over the track. Don't half on the track. Don't walk on the track when other people are in faster paces.
Hello !

Also do not get too close to another horse as some may kick. Rule is one horse length away. Horses that kick should have a red ribbon in their tail. Horses that bite should have a red ribbon in their mane.
Please look where you are going and where other people are riding. Ride defensively! If you are unsure vocalize what you are doing.
You must always have contact with your horse when it is in the arena.
And last thing do not ride side by side ;)
Hey Amber,

One important thing to know is when approaching another rider head on, pass left shoulder to left shoulder. When in a situation you are unsure of, please call “rail” or “inside”, etc. so there is no misunderstanding.
Hi! Another important rules are lateral work has priority over all paces, stallions should be clearly identified with a green disc on the saddlecloth. Some owners/riders have started using green bridle numbers which are not as visable as the green discs and owners should consider using both for safety reasons. Think about your fellow competitors and their horses. Looks are one thing but safety for all is more important.
Hello Amber,

The most important rule is: riders should pass left shoulder to left shoulder when on the track!

Then there are a lot of other rules like: Announce to the other riders when the gate to the arena is being opened on your entry and exit, lateral work has priority over all paces, when circling, anticipate your return to the track so as to not stop the flow of other riders, etc.
