My horse does it sometimes out hacking, there's nothing wrong with mine- he's just a twat. I find keeping his mind busy and really sending him forward helps, when he learns he can't get away with it he gives up
i have changed is feed to something with less sugar and energy because i was feeding him easy result and yes i have a new saddle so i will get it fitted i have a front riser on. i was thinking it could be a bit sore because i was doing sitting trot the other day. ive noticed that even when i hose him down on his back he hunches over and is quite sensitive?? thank you all who answered :)
It might be his saddle. Just make sure it fit correctly or he might have a sore back maybe from rolling on a stone or stretching the wrong way
If u feel he's fresh lunge before u get on as they could have a lot of energy to burn of and also I would recommend getting ur saddle checked
Have a look at what you're feeding him and see if the saddle is fitted correctly
Sounds like he's cold backed. Have saddle and back checked. Some cold backed horses prefer if you get on with a loose girth etc. Or it could just be down to manners so might be worthwhile taking it back to basics and groundwork.
he doesnt do it all the time hes only done it about 5 times in the last month but ive noticed its on the days when the weather is a bit stormy and hes quite fresh and forward???
