Any good tips/exercises for keeping your lower leg still?
It may be hard but no stirrups. 2 point position
Practicing 2 point position at a trot helps. A useful way is alternating 2 point and rising eg. 5 2 point 3 rising. A 2-2 alternating pattern would definitely be the hardest but the switching I found works better than trying to hold as long as you can before exhaustion
I learnt by riding walk, trot and canter in 2 point
