Which is a softer bit, a rubber straight or a rubber double jointed?

A rubber straight, there's no nut cracker action. However, if the horse has a large tongue, it may find a straight bit, or even the thickness of the rubber bit, too much. Also with rubber, it can cause friction if the horse doesn't produce much saliva. In general, a rubber/plastic straight bit will be one of the softest bits you can you, but it may not suit your horse.
