I have used Martin Collins surfaces throughout my yard because I genuinely believe that they are the best surfaces! My horses use their surfaces at some point nearly every day so it’s important that they are confident working on them and they get the support they need from the surface. Martin Collins are very knowledgeable and gave me great advice on what to use where. Their after care service is also fantastic and they continually give me useful guidance on maintaining the surfaces so we get the best out of them.
Horses need to feel confident with the surface they’re working on especially when jumping. My older horses can sometimes feel their feet a little so it’s important not to have a surface that’s too hard. The ones that are a bit careful don’t like a surface that holds them too much. In England our surfaces also need to cope with a lot of different weather conditions!!!
Sometimes when you go to a show and the ground isn’t great. They may not enjoy the take off or landing or want to travel well on it and this can have a detrimental effect on their performance.
