I couldn’t control the horse I was riding from cantering when approaching a fence when we should have been trotting. I was trying to sit back but it wasn’t working, do you have advices?

Thank you for your great advice! Much appreciated 🐴🐴🐴
What I do when working with a horse like that, is start with crossrails and work my way up. I walk my horse until about 5 strides out, then give him his head just enough to let him trot
Hi Maryann
Try using half halts before the jump and every now and then stop your horse before the jump just to show you are in control
