When I’m trotting, my pony throws her head up a lot. She got her teeth done in January and I got a new bridle and bit and she was riding ok in it until recently, do you have any advice?

But if its not it could be the saddle pinching her..you could find this out by measuring her withers and what not or see where she is over-sweating after riding or lunging her to the point where she sweats
It might just be a moody mare not wanting to do what shes told but is doing it anyway..its like a kid who doesn't want to do what hes told but does it while complaining
Also try using a bit less bridle
Use a loose rein and ignore it
Although its easy to blame this on tack (which it very well may be) I would try a different bit and see if it helps. Otherwise, try to keep your hands low and wide while riding, keep your hands still to somewhat act as side reins. Let the pony throw its head, usually if it just a behavioural issue they will stop the head throwing and relax into the contact. I recently did this with a horse and by the end of one ride she was relaxed realizing that the reins were not moving and pulling on her mouth.
Maintain outside rein contact, while taking and giving on the inside rein.
Hi Chloe
I would definitely check the saddle and her back and see if she is in any discomfort and then if it’s not her back does she do it the whole time? Near the end of a ride? On a particular rein?
Hope this helps

@chiaraamor no it’s just a normal noseband alsmot identical to her last one it’s just that this one actually fits her 😂. I honestly think it could her the saddle as I don’t have it fitted but But next month I’m going to get one fitted and then my problem will hopefully be solved!! Thank you :))
Let us know once you’ve found a solution, good luck!
She probably has another piece of tack that’s making her uncomfortable. You can try another bit set up and see what’s going on. Is it a normal noseband that she used before? I know some horses that went from a normal bridle to a figure 8 bridle and was extremely unhappy.
@chiaraamor my trainer fitted the bridle and the bridle she had before I got her was really small on her that’s why I bought a new one and then she was perfect on it until recently
She could dislike the pressure of the new bridle in her face if not fitted correctly. Did she do this before the new bridle/bit? Or more than normal
Check the tack. Something could be pinching or just uncomfortable. Maybe try loosening and flexing as well.
It could be the saddle maybe her back needs to be checked I had a horse that had a sensitive back and threw his head up
