Is only two flakes of a combination of alfalfa and orchard hay for senior horses who live out 24/7 enough? The grass in the field isn’t the absolute best.

Depending the age and breed it most likely will not be enough. You should be feeding grain to a senior horse on top of how ever must hay they want
The grass in the field isn’t the absolute best. I just got two senior horses and the old owner said just two flakes a day. I know alfalfa is high in protein so I’m cautious to give too much. Thoughts?
