Do you have tips to start competing in hunter jumps? We are starting up an IHSA program at my school next semester and I've never shown before. Thanks!

You definitely need a steady ride and a horse that jumps really well. With hunter riding the jumps aren’t that high and your not scored on how fast and clear you go around you are graded on how good you and your horse looks. Sometimes there may be a optimom time. And in a lot of courses there is a jump you need to take from trot. So if you want to try hunter you need a steady horse. Also there is a postion that you go around in a light seat. So your slightly out of the saddle and leaned forward just a bit. Kind of how you go around a X country course.
