@alannahreilly thank you so much!! I am getting the saddle fitter out to get a new saddle as the one I have doesn’t fit her 100% so that could be it. But I also had a few horsey people say that my pony could have been trained a Certain way, so far I haven’t found out what way. But she is getting better undersaddle, she could be just having a really mareish week haha
Have you had the vet come and check her out? It could be a back issue. An OTTB at my barn has kissing spine and is great on the linger but can get very naughty when riding. Could it also be a behavioral problem? My mare was like this for a while too. She was amazing on the lunge, knew voice commands and everything but as soon I got on to ride she got very naughty and would refuse to move, or if she’s did it wasn’t for very long. I tried to do a lot of groundwork and that helped sometimes, but I had my real breakthrough with her when I tried Spurs (I only use very soft ones!). It seems like whoever trained her had trained her to only respond to spurs. She is amazing now and rarely gets naughty. Hopefully I can take them off sometime and start riding without them, but maybe your horse was trained a certain way too? Not sure if you bought/rescued your horse or if you trained. Sorry I can’t help too much! Good luck!
It’ll take ages to calm her down and get her to just walk , so then I would try trot and then that’s a disaster and I might get a few steps of nice trot and I would then walk and praise her loads, but this has been going on for a while and I feel like I’m getting no where
