When I broke my leg, the second I was out of my boot I went to an athletic therapist. It was so worth it because my AT was also a rider so knew exactly what pressures my ankle would be under. This meant she was able to get me riding again much quicker than physio would, and she could tell me exactly what to watch out for. My injury was a fractured fibula and complete tears in four of the ligaments in my ankle. This meant a lot of my exercises were mobility based and then strength based. (Starting with just foot rotations and flexions. Then these with an exercise band, then walking on my heels or toes, side shuffles etc) Its always injury specific though, so I’d reccomend seeing a physio or AT before you do anything potentially harmful. (I love ATs but most insurance companies won’t cover them so be careful of that.
