Thanks for your question. I definitely took a step back from riding during my first two years of college. I wanted to get myself settled in a new place and new country for me. But everyone has their own path and comfort zones. When I started riding competitively again during my junior year, I really worked hard at being organized and communicative with my professors and staff. I got most of my schoolwork done during the week so that i could ride on weekends and I made sure to not fall behind on any classwork as it gets very hard to catch back up, especially when all your free time is dedicated to horses. Organization and time management are huge keys to be able to balance the two.
