When do you start decorating your house for Christmas? Do you usually go for a full new theme every year?
Any decorations before December 1st is too much! All the shops advertise Xmas as soon as September or so! 😂 😂
Hi James,
My mom is always really big on Christmas season and its preparation often starts in the beginning of November haha
She does find a new concepts every year, which makes it really nice. Here are the things around which you can build a nice theme: color (as the main one, you can go for a warm red or an icy blue), materials (stones for modernity, velvet for tradition
),
shape and color of the tree, the table set, the packaging of the gifts, and all the accessories that you can use to decorate other places of the house (doors, foyer
). Her last Christmas theme was a very modern all white with some touches of silver. Everything was a little futuristic, it looked great. Even the food was adapted according to the theme (a white iced cake). Let me know which theme you choose for this year, it might give us ideas!
Hi James, my family had the tradition of putting the Christmas decorations up after my mum's birthday on the 10th. So keeping the tradition I get the Christmas decorations from the attic and decorate the tree on December 11. But I begin with some winter themed decorations in November to make my house look extra cosy 😁 as a busy riding school manager and horse owner I dont have too much spare time or money so I use the same stuff for a couple of years, and buy some new decorations when I have the time 😊 we decorate the yard, cafù and indoor arena with christmas decorations after the Dutch holiday Sinterklaas on December 5th 😁
