I believe that street art is wonderful, as long as it doesn’t do any physical damage to what it is on or what is around it and it’s intentions are just for people to enjoy or appreciate the art. I think that it’s such an important form of art because it’s so easily accessible and can be done and appreciated by everyone, no matter their age, race or income bracket. It could very well be the future of art.
Hi Connor, I am a fan of street art myself and I definitely think that amongst contemporary art street art has more than anything else its place in museums. :) It is even more impressive when displayed on wide and white walls. The colors and emotional power of the art pieces really resonate with me.
However, as street art comes from the street, I also think that making the exhibits as open as possible would make sense. Creating public concepts in the city to feature the pieces is also something that I like and that many street art artists have done.
