My horse isn’t very well mannered she constantly throws her head in the cross ties, pushes me around. Are there any helpful exercises I can do with her and what tips do you have for me?

Raylene Lung what exercises did you do?
Sounds to me like you need to do some heavy groundwork with your horse. She sounds like she doesn’t give a hoot about what you’re asking which usually means she doesn’t respect you as her leader. My OTTB used to be the same but we just worked on respect and space and eventually he learned what he could and couldn’t do around me. If you work with a trainer, get them to give you some exercises to help you out! They’ve been super helpful for my guy, and now he stands still when in cross ties!
I would also try flexing her head toward rhe stirrup on the side you mount. This was if she moves she'll only move in a circle. If you have to keep her flexed and walk in a circle with her till she stops then get on. Do this everytime and she will learn standing still is better then going in circles.
How can I teach the horse to respect me? And what kind of ground work
Do you work on respect with your horse. Not besting the horse or popping it but teaching the horse to respect you as your respect her. I have to do this with my gelding
Do a lot of positive reinforcement ground work
will try and run me over, never picks her head up when grazing when asked and she never will stand still when mounting or just in general...
