There is this mare at my barn that I have been trying to train her, but she won’t lunge! I have tried to get her to lunge for 30 minutes in a row sometimes and she just won’t move. Do you have any advice?

Ok!! Thank you!! I think she might have had a bad experience with it before but am not sure
Is she a lazy horse? Like just sleeping while your working with her, I had a horse like that and we started feeding her extra energy supplements and she was really good after that.
Have you found out why she is refusing? Pain? Confusion? Previous bad experience? Sickened to it?
Thank you!!
Try going right back to basics with lunge training, even if she knows how, and get aggressive with her, also make sure she’s sound and healthy. Oh and don’t try and make her do it for too long, if you force her to participate for long periods of time she’ll probably get uninterested and will want to lunge even less, I’d suggest 15 minutes lunging, a 20 minute break and then going at it again. Also try and make it as interesting as possible so that she gets curious.
She is just refusing
Is it that she has never lunged and needs to learn, or that she used to lunge and is now refusing?
