Walk poles for straightness, trot poles for muscles, canter poles, combinations and related distances for jumping fitness and striding. It will also help create a nice jumping form (bascule)
Anja Slabbert, Thanks it did! Tried it out and it’s really helped him build muscle in his hind and he’s coming onto the bit and collecting better now as well
Basic trot poles are always a good tool
You can never, ever go wrong with trotting and cantering poles to help the horse track up and work from behind. Try and get the horse to work round over these exercises :) You can move on to more complex pole exercises once the horse works collectively and calmly over these exercises.
Canter poles set in a corner is also a great exercise for some variety, just use about 3-4 poles and really push into that corner with your inside leg.
Hope this helps.
