What difference is there in price for owning and fully leasing a horse?
Full lease may or may not mean you have to pay farrier bills, and usually you don't pay veterinary ecpenses whereas owning you have all those and more. The cheapest part of buying a horse is the price of the horse. All the extras (tack, feed, board, farrier, vet, supplements, insurance etc) add up fast. It is easier to stop leasing one horse and lease another when it gets old or you want to move up a level, harder to sell and buy a new one. But owning you have full control over what happens with that horse and full access whereas leasing the owner may sell and only give you a week's notice, or decide to stop leasing at any point
