You could try an elevator bit which has done wonders for getting my strong forward jumper mare to half halt and collect
A beval could be worth a try, it’s like a loose ring but has a slight elevating effect, or a snaffle with a slow twist.

my horse used to be very strong over fences and would run through my hands in the loose ring, so I moved to a pelham and it worked great! Our training since then has improved massively, but now I think the pelham is a little too much for him most of the time, but occosionally, he still can be very strong. He’s also stopped wanting to stretch into contact when he’s being ridden in it which is a huge problem in my opinion, so I was looking for bits to help to meet in the middle.
I like double jointed bits like french link or lozenge bits. I find they have better contact with the horse's mouth without the "nutcracker" action of a snaffle
