I always find it weird when I see girls in pony classes and hack classes wearing red show jackets. I thought only certain top classes wore those, what do you think about it?

I wear black for showjumping and showing, tweed for hunter trails and working hunter and showing, and then I wear a white shirt and a colourful hat silk sometimes for hunter trials
Depends on where you live. In the Netherlands all colours are riders choice, at least for national non-FEI shows. Lots of little kids in pink, red, purple or orange show jackets. Adults tend to stay in the classical range with navy, black, grey and brown with maybe a colourful accent on the collar or piping. But anything goes, same for helmet and boot colours. Seen some adults in bright pink boots and helmets. Not my taste but whatever floats your boat I guess 😅
I agree, but there’s no actual rule about it, just an unspoken rule that I’ve heard that you should only wear a red jacket in big classes if it goes with your country’s colours
