For me as a rider, Wellington is incredible because of everyone's access to watching the top riders in so many different classes, not just the Grand Prix's. You're able to see the world's best riders competing their young horses, do schooling classes, train their students, etc. In my opinion, I think you learn more from watching how they ride/train outside of the Grand Prix ring. Wellington is also really special because you're able to stay in one place for a few months, which is not typical in our industry! During the rest of the year, we are all traveling to so many different shows and living out of hotel rooms, so it is really nice to have some stability not just for us but also for our horses.
