It really depends on what you want to do, and where your interests lie. For example, not everyone would want to become a groom, and not everyone would want to become a farrier. Both are careers in the equine world, but very different. It's much more difficult to do well as a groom, however being a farrier involves very heavy work. Is it worth doing what you love? Yes, but be prepared for blood, sweat and tears. Grooming can be unforgiving if you get the wrong employer, and there are a lot of wrong employers. Working in a stud farm will be different work from working in a competition yard. Self employed routes may mean you don't get to work with horses the way you want to. If you find something within the equine industry that you really want to do, go for it! Otherwise, there's no harm in keeping it just as a hobby.
