I don't show at all, that's definitely because I don't like lots of people watching me and I'm not good with handeling pressure. I think training is the part where you build things up. You don't only learn your horse (and yourself) a lot new stuff, but training is the part where you really get to know each other. 9/10 of the time the training does not go well because horse and rider are developing, but every training is a step forward. I don't feel that with competitions at all...
Training cuz you can just have more fun with it showing every now and then is fun
I agree with Molly. I think that showing has really changed over the years, and has made me into the rider I am today, in good and bad aspects. I definitely think that I like the training better just with my horse because he’s so high strung. On the other hand I like competing too because it shows how far we’ve come as a pair.
Hi! I think I love both sides, but competing can bring the worst in our sport when people are blinded by performance and forget about the animal. I think taking care of the horse and training have to be the main parts of a rider's daily life, but I don't have any problem with competing if it's done in a healthy way.
