What are your thoughts on adopting(or buying) a horse from rescues such as Canter or new vocations etc compared to buying one from a private seller?

I think it really depends on what you are willing to get into. If you want to do high level shows and have a nice horse off the bat, rescuing just isn’t the way to go and that’s okay. But if you want to spend time working and “retraining” and rehabilitating the horse then rescuing is a great thing to do! I rescued my mare and I couldn’t be happier- that being said when I began to ride her we found out she was a fully trained hunter/jumper that loved getting ridden so that made my job much easier. But you never know what you’re going to get with a rescue so like me you may end up with an amazing fully trained horse!

So I guess to answer your question shortly: it depends on what your goal is and what you are willing to put into it.

Hope this helps answer your question!
I have a rescue horse. Personally I think it’s better to adopt. But it’s totally ok to buy a horse form a private seller. It’s all about what is your level of riding, your preferences and so on. It’s very personal and the horse is supposed to be suited to the rider. So there’s no good or bad in buying/adopting it’s all personal goals, skills and preferences.

Lots of love ❤️
Hi Nicole 🙂

I think it's a wonderful thing to offer a new life to a horse, but you have to know it can be hard sometimes because of their past. With patience and love you can do anything so for me it's a yes!
