I lease an appendix quarter horse. He has really thin mane and tail, and he has a bald spot on his tail. He isn’t rubbing it, and doesn't have worms. Is there a way to encourage hair growth?

Thank you!
I had the same problem about 5 years ago with one of my Geldings that I no longer have. I would usually put some regrowth cream on him and I also used olive oil which really helped. The best thing to do is by a ultra sensitive mane+tail shampoo and avoid conditioner. I would recommend putting a few tablespoons of olive oil in with the mane+tail shampoo and shacking the boddle a bit to mix it all in. After you put the mane+tail mixed with olive oil in I would just let it sit for 5 mins then rinse it out. If you are just using olive oil Then I would wet his tail and put the olive oil on him then rinse it off in the morning every day. I would recommend putting the olive oil in around 5 PM everyday. If you use the regrowth cream keep it in all day long and night and put more on every day. It took my horse 4 weeks to show signs of regrowth.
