Hi, I have recently started riding with a much gentler technic and listening and understanding him more which has helped my horse and I bonding a lot so you can try that but also brushing them often and generally spending time with them instead of working them every time you go see your horse helps and makes them feel that you don’t mean work all the time. With regards to training, if you have a field with a slope you can ride in really helps with their cardio and if you ride in light seat works you as well.
The best thing to do is to make sure that you have great professionals around you to advise you in your daily life with your pony.
You will get to know him and you will easily spot when there is something wrong about him, keep listening to him, he'll probably make you understand when something is wrong.
Regarding training, you have to do things slow, following both of your rhythm. Don't rush things, you will progress together naturally and you have plenty of time to reach your goals 🙂
I wish you all the best adventures with Dallas x
