When I go to horse shows I find myself feeling self conscious and then I become tense. My horse is nice, but I still find myself comparing and doubting my skills. Is there any advise that could help me loosen up and become more confident in myself and my horse?

Just tell yourself it will be alright.
If someone comes up and says something mean about your ride, just tell them it was just a practice run.
When ever I am about to run a barrel race, I always get worked up too. But I always go out and have fun.
Just compete for yourself, to improve your skills and become the rider you want. The more you compete the more confident and relaxed you’ll get. Try to focus on all the good things you’ve done and the hard work you’ve put. Don’t let the silly mistakes get in your head, everyone has better days than others.
Practice until you believe in yourself
